Village Concept Project is one of the biggest programs in every Local Committee IAAS Indonesia under control of Vice Director of Project and Science IAAS Indonesia. Especially in Project Department IAAS LC IPB, Village Concept Project is divided into 2 programs. They are Ngariung and Product Development.

Ngariung 2.0 was held on September 20th 2020 at Mr. Wadhi’s house as a leader of Poktan Sumberjaya in Jabal Rahmah Village. The event held was training on how to make ready-to-drink jamu and instant beras kencur jamu in collaboration with Biofarmaka Tropika LPPM IPB University guided by VCP team IAAS LC IPB. There are 10 participants from Jabal Rahmah villagers who joined this training.

Opening session was led by master of ceremony then continued with watching video about how to make ready-to-drink jamu and instant beras kencur jamu. In this session, the participants got the opportunity to ask questions and discussed about  material of the training. The next session, making jamu, was the main session of this event that’s guided by the committees. The first step was washing the ingredients and cutting it into small slices. After that the ingredients were blended and filtered. The next step would distinguish between making ready-to-drink jamu and instant jamu. To make ready-to-drink jamu, after filtered, the ingredients were boiled. But, to make instant jamu, ingredients must be allowed to settle. The dregs that form were then dried up. This step made instant jamu took longer time than ready-to-drink jamu.

The participants successfully made 3 liters of ready-to-drink jamu and 1.578 grams of instant beras kencur jamu. We also did a photo session with participants and the product we made. Hopefully, this training could give a positive impact and be more productive activity to Jabal Rahmah villagers especially the participants of this event. After the committees finish formulating the best recipe for sale. Hence, the product could be the surpassing and iconic product from our beloved VCP.

One key result of IAAS LC IPB, make prototype products in Village Concept Project,  was achieved by materializing this event. And also we would like to thank to Biofarmaka Tropika LPPM IPB University and all participants who have contributed to this event.
