Press Release
The first collaboration program of Exchange Program Department and Project Department IAAS LC IPB, IAAS Conversation Club X Agriranger (ICC X Agriranger), is aiming to increase educational care for children in improving ability and interest in English through Focus Group Discussion (FGD). ICC X Agriranger was finally held semi-online on September 5th 2020 at H. Haryono Orphanage, Cibanteng, Bogor and Zoom Cloud Meetings. The theme we focused on was “Healthy Lifestyle: Healthy Life for Happy Life”.
This event was attended by 66 participants, consisting of IAAS members and the children from H. Haryono Orphanage. Due to the pandemic that was still going on, there were 10 rangers and 7 committees from IAAS members which went to the orphanage. ICC X Agriranger collaborated with Himagizi as the speaker of this event, and also with Lekas Pinjam and Cinta Baca Bogor as the books contributors for the children of H. Haryono Orphanage.
This event was divided into two big sessions, presentations from a representative of Himagizi and focus group discussion. The presentation by Listia Dwi Ramadhani from Himagizi was presented via Zoom Cloud Meetings. The presentation explained about Food Nutrition and Healthy Lifestyle during Pandemic. The children showed a high interest and attentions to the material given by the speaker.
The second session was focus group discussion which was led by the rangers in each group. The groups were classified by the educational stage and gender. The materials of each group were adjusted to the participants’ educational stages, which were Senior High School, Junior High School, Elementary School, and Pre-Primary School. All of the groups are assisted by the cheerful Rangers to explain more about the material and help the children during the discussion.
After the focus group discussion session ended, there were three groups who presented their discussion’s result and another three groups gave their testimonies about this event. In addition to increase excitement in this session, the children also wrote down their hopes on the Curtain of Hopes. After that, donations were given to the orphanage from Lekas Pinjam by Ms. Nikita and from Cinta Baca by Mrs. Clara. This was followed by giving the Token of Appreciation by project leader and groceries donation by head of Project Department to the Orphanage.
Lastly, we did a fun photo session which was still under the health protocol. The children of the Orphanage and the rangers looked so happy with this event. We thank everyone who joined this event both offline or online. And also we would like to say thank you so much for our partners, Lekas Pinjam and Cinta Baca. We hope this event can help children to practise healthy living habits and increase their English skills, also for the rangers to share their knowledge with fellow humans.
Stay safe and stay healthy.
